Ingredients
- 100 grams lean ground beef
- 1/4 tsp Basil
- 1/8 tsp Oregano
- 1/8 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Clove garlic crushed
- 1 Melba Toast Cracker (made into crumbs)
- 1 recipe Marinara Sauce
- 1 tbsp Onion minced (optional)

Instructions
- Combine meat, crumbs and spices and mix thoroughly. Form into balls.
- Place into baking dish and cover with marinara sauce.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Serve hot over cabbage noodles. Garnish with fresh basil.
- Phase 3 modifications: Top with sliced provolone cheese or mozzarella cheese and bake until brown and bubbly. Top with grated parmesan.

HCG MARINARA SAUCE
- 4 large tomatoes
- 1 tbsp chopped basil (fresh is best)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoon onion (chopped fine)
- 2 clove of garlic minced
- 6 oz. of tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and cayenne pepper to taste
- Pepper if desired
how do you know how much is 1 serving technically when you make these?
Hi Jamie, I would say it’s about 4-6 meatballs depending on how big you make them. The best way is to weigh them before you cook them. (100 grams is 1 serving.)

Hey Chelsea, this is a really great question. 100grams of lean ground beef is 137 calories. All of our recipes are formulated to keep you within your 500 calorie range once you add your vegetables and fruits and melba toast cracker. If you keep to the basic diet (calculating 100 grams of meat) you should be fine. Just make sure you are using “lean” ground beef. Try not to overdue it on the beef during the diet as that is one of the fattier meats. Happy Dieting!

Hey Aubri, Melba toast if definitely approved for the hcg diet however I have completed the diet with amazing results not using a melba toast, grissini stick or any other low carb cracker. The best substitute for the Melba toast is a stick of celery 🙂

I looked at the meatball recipe and was surprised by the use of cheese on top. Mozzarella or parmesan. I didn’t think cheese was allowed? Is it? Thanks.
