If you are a vegetarian or vegan and you want to lose weight, you may be wondering if you can do the HCG diet. Actually, “Can vegetarians or vegans do the HCG diet” is one of the most frequent questions we receive. The answer is YES! There are plenty of foods that vegetarians and vegans can substitute for the protein on the HCG Diet. Several of our successful HCG dieters are vegetarians or vegans. The main thing is that you replace the meat with a lean protein that is to your specification. If you are vegetarian then Eggs may be fine but If you are vegan use Tofu or a lean vegan burger. Make sure to have the amounts correct. This guide lists all of the foods and options available during the VLCD (P2) phase 2 of the HCG Diet for vegans and vegetarians. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Instructions
Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity. One tablespoonful of (cows) milk (11 cals.) allowed per day. Truvia is NOT pure and can slow weight loss.

Seasonings are allowed except pre-mixed spices as they often contain sugar. You can have Bragg’s Liquid Amino Acids, mustard (water, mustard seed, vinegar, and turmeric), Frank’s Original Hot sauce, and Spry Xylitol gum or mints (1.2 calories each). No substitutions for ANY of the foods. Per Dr. Simeons, any food may be eliminated due to lack of hunger. If you aren’t able to eat all 500 calories in a day, first cut out the melba toast/grissini and/or one or more servings of fruit. It is important to eat two 3.5-ounce servings of protein daily.
- You can eat the breadstick and fruit as a snack in between meals instead of with your meals.
- Use only oil-free cosmetics.
- Do not use products that contain food oils
- You must eat everything as prescribed – no substitutions.
- No sodas (diet or regular). Perrier is allowed – only naturally carbonated drinks, not seltzer.

how many boiled eggs per day are allowed for veg person?
Good question. With each meal when you replace the meat with eggs you are allowed 1 full egg and 3 egg whites. So if you do that for lunch and dinner that would be 2 full eggs and 6 egg whites for the day.
Are you allowed to mostly do vegetarian and/or vegan and have one meat for a protein every few days?
Yes you can mix it up if you like.
I am not a vegan or vegetarian but have kidney disease so try to use plant protein more. Can I eat the Beyond Burger on HCG? it is pea protein primarily—
The Beyond Burger has 20 grams of Fat so this is a no-go for the HCG diet. You will be able to get away with that on your maintenance phase after the low calorie part of the diet.
I’m a vegan you should be fine substituting Beyond mean on your vegan HCG diet.. Iv been doing well using vegan eggs and vegan proteins. Just make sure you really are doing the vegan thing and not mixing vegetarian with it or you will eff it up. So maybe try a few days vegan, a few days vegetarian. As long as you are not eating animals and vegan/plant based proteins in 1 day you should be fine. I can’t understand how anyone would say it’s okay to eat a steak but not a beyond burger that’s too fattening… rolls eyes..
Beyond meat not beyond mean lol omg auto incorrect lol
Omg! I’ve used hog before and loved it now I’m vegan I’m super lost on what to eat please help.
Hi Nicole, I assume by HOG you mean HCG haha. It is pretty simple, just replace the protein with Vegan proteins with low sugar and low fat. Here are some Ideas : One serving of Protein: MRM 100% Natural Whey (all flavors) SunWarrior: Raw Vegan (all flavors) or Warrior Blend (all flavors) *Vegan Jay Robb Whey (all flavors) Garden of Life Raw Protein (all flavors) *Vegan Cottage cheese* (1/2 cup no fat) – 75 calories One whole egg + 3 egg whites Tofu – one serving MUST have between 75-140 calories and between 15-21g protein. It must have less than 5g fat, less than 5g carbohydrates. Vegan Sausage Patties Vegan Burger Non-GMO soy burger
Dear Admin, eggs and egg whites are not vegan.
I just got my 27 day and excited but only looking to lose about 15 lbs. What do I do once I get there? I feel like I might hit that mark within 2 weeks. Not sure what the best protocol is for long-lasting results.
Any help is appreciated!
It is recommended by Dr. Simeons to complete at least 21 days on the diet the first time you do it. Once you complete 21 days you can start the 3 week maintenance phase. If you are ahead of schedule and reached your goal by day 15 then just take the drops and increase your calories to 1200 or so eating on the same schedule. This is a great question to ask in our new Private Facebook Group. It is for only HCG Warriors, to support each other during the diet. Since the group just started today, everyone that jumps in the group will be starting the diet so it will be fun to connect with others who are going through the same experience. Here is the link>>

The one vegetable rule is not true. I eat a vegan protein, 1 or 1oz of a tomato, and 2 or 3oz of spinach, cook them down in water and eat it as a soup. This is my third session and my first completely vegan. You can mix veggies. It doesn’t just help with taste, but also the psychological aspect of fulfillment in this program.
1 or 2oz of tomato.*
LOL @ use only oil free cosmetics…….didn’t you mean condiments?
Oil free cosmetics is actually correct. Oil free cosmetics, condiments and anything you can get oil free.
What protein shakes and cottage cheese are allowed on the HCG
Drops vegetarian diet ??
Also
You can mix the vegetarian and regular foods?
on an HCG diet can we consume less then 500 calories if not hungry? also does protein from meat help lose more weight than protein from eggs? I mean does it make difference?
Hi can I have tofu?
are veggie patties acceptable.
Under Tofu, it says 140 calories and no more than 5g fat and 5 carbs. Do you have a brand you can suggest? ALL of the brands have around 70 calories with 1 to 2 carbs but all have 4 to 5 grams of fat. So if you double that to get to the 140 calories then the fat goes up to 10 grams.
